My experience living on “bad” astrocartography lines
Are you concerned about living on or moving to a location with what some call "bad” astrocartography lines?
You're not alone. Many people wonder if certain planetary lines can bring misfortune or challenges.
In this blog post, I'll dive deep into what these lines really mean and share personal experiences to help you understand the true impact of astrocartography on your life.
The misconception of "bad” astrocartography lines
In the past few years, astrocartography has been subject to sensationalization.
Unfortunately, the deeper psychological insights about traveling to and living in various places have been overshadowed by oversimplified interpretations.
My mission is to bring nuance back to astrocartography.
My approach to astrology is informed by the belief that challenges are there to help us grow and evolve, as the spiritual beings we are, and the same applies to the geographical locations we end up living in.
The more challenging locations on our life’s journey are also there to help activate and bring to life certain aspects of ourselves that can best be experienced and worked through in that location.
I've had the privilege of interpreting countless astrocartography maps, and I want to share the real stories—my own and those of others—about living under these so-called "bad" planetary lines.

My experience living on “bad” astrocartography lines
I’ve lived on three “bad” astrocartography lines - Mars, Pluto and Saturn - all three of which have garnered a rather negative reputation in the online sphere.
By sharing real stories - my own and from others - I hope to illuminate how the sensational meanings attached to these astrocartography lines is only focused on the ‘shadow’ manifestation of these planets’ energies.
MARS MC - my birthplace & current home
I was born right on my Mars line and returned to this energy when I repatriated. In the years between, I wasn't near any Martian energy, so it lay dormant within me.
Mars calls for being in touch with our masculine side - our drive to succeed and make something of ourselves independently of others.
If you’re not comfortable or even familiar with your masculine side, living on or near your Mars line can feel like it’s too much.
Mars can also be highly volatile and easily angered, but this is true only to the extent that we are not in touch with the anger that resides within us.
The more you accept and process your anger in a healthy way, the less you’ll find your external circumstances mirroring your anger back to you.
Since repatriating, all the anger that had lain dormant in me has surfaced.
I’ve never considered myself an activist, but after 4 years living near Mars’ energy, many facets of how society works make me furious.
Anger is a feeling like any other, and it’s been interesting learning to tame that dragon within me.
I’ve also found it hard to “fit in” professionally, which has pushed me on an entrepeneurial path where Martian energy feels much more comfortable.

PLUTO DC - Iceland
I spent 10 years living near two Pluto aspect lines, but visiting one of my Pluto power lines in Iceland was an unforgettable experience.
Pluto forces us to confront our deepest selves, representing transformation, death, sex, and all things taboo. On the descendant, Pluto challenges our self-perception—who are you truly in relation to other people? Can you emerge stronger, or will you be undone?
As daunting as it sounds, my trip to Iceland, my first solo journey abroad at the tender age of 18, was transformative.
It was also where I faced a near-death experience when our tour bus nearly slid into the Gullfoss waterfall.
This life-threatening moment shattered my anxiety about solo travel, leaving me more resilient than ever.
But Pluto DC doesn’t have to mean near-death experiences.
More commonly, Pluto DC brings a reconceptualization of our relationships, through which our own sense of self goes through deep changes.
I’ve had clients live on Pluto DC lines for 20 years. It’s energy that they’re familiar with and it’s served them for a good reason.
SATURN SQUARE MC - my current home
Saturn is a disciplinarian and wants you to work hard to get ahead professionally when it lands on or aspects the Midheaven.
Being obsessed with your status in society to the point that you’re willing to give up anything that’s remotely pleasurable is likely.
Saturn gets a bad rep because it’s associated with restrictions and limitations. While most of us would like a smooth ride in life, from a spiritual perspective a smooth ride gets us nowhere.
Our soul needs friction, tension and setbacks in order to grow, and I’ve certainly not been spared from that.
My Saturn is in Capricorn in my 6th house, which makes me naturally prone to burnouts and self-isolation, all in the name of reaching my goals.
In my current home, I need to consciously make space for joy, pleasure and idle time to keep a certain balance, but it doesn’t come naturally.
No matter what I do, I see more work waiting for me and I feel guilty when I don’t take care of my to-do list first.
Saturn in the 6th house can also affect relationships with colleagues, which in my case has manifested as difficulties in connecting with them professionally (but not personally).
It’s forced me to reconsider what kind of people do I want to be working with, leading me to the conclusion that I prefer to work on my own.
Embracing the lessons of “bad” astrocartography lines
We can view challenging planetary lines as warnings to avoid certain places, but that approach overlooks the growth opportunities they present.
We can honor our attraction to a specific location and trust that the challenges we may experience there are meant to make us stronger, wiser, more capable, more loving etc.
The places our souls are drawn to are never coincidental (I’ve seen this in my practice time and time again) so there’s no point in fighting the attraction.
This is why I will never tell a client they shouldn’t move somewhere just because there’s a Pluto, Neptune, Saturn, Uranus or Mars line. Heck, even a Venus like can be a rough ride if it’s in a tricky position in your natal chart.
There’s a part of us that wants to come to light and it’s only in that location that you have the best chance for it, for your highest good and the highest good of everyone else involved.
Trust that you are being guided even when the way forward seems challenging, no matter where in the world you find yourself in.
