Career astrology: After years of feeling adrift, I finally love what I do for work

Career astrology was the game-changer that turned my professional life from feeling lost to feeling deeply fulfilled, and I'm eager to share how it can do the same for you.

For years, I wandered through various industries, chasing that elusive sense of passion and purpose in my work.

Although I experienced moments of success and recognition, they were fleeting, leaving me with a lingering emptiness—a sense that something essential was missing. A feeling of having come home professionally.

That all changed when I started seriously exploring career astrology as a guide for my professional path.

In this blog post, I'll walk you through what to look for in your natal chart and how aligning my career with astrological insights transformed my life.

What is career astrology?

Career astrology is a powerful tool that aligns your professional life with your true purpose.

By analyzing your natal chart, you can uncover insights into your strengths, passions, and the types of work that will bring you the most fulfillment.

Unlike traditional career counseling, which often focuses on skills and experience, career astrology delves into the cosmic blueprint of your life, offering guidance that is uniquely tailored to you.

The turning point: Taking career astrology seriously

I had reached a point where I was ready to accept that work was just something you do to earn money so you can spend it on other things you love.

But everything changed during my Saturn return—a period known for bringing about significant life shifts.

Feeling like I had nothing to lose, I decided to experiment with career insights from my natal chart.

At the time, I didn’t realize the Pandora’s box I had just opened.

What started as a small experiment led to a fundamental shift in how I viewed my work and life.

I was so used to feeling listless and disconnected in my work but the more I allowed myself to explore an alternative path, the more I discovered that it’s also possible for me to feel energized, inspired, and truly passionate about something that I could do for work—a feeling I once believed was only reserved for others.

Feeling passionate about what I do is a normal part of my daily life now (which doesn’t make me immune to normal life/business struggles though).

How career astrology transformed my life

One pivotal shift for me was starting to take my interest in the esoteric arts seriously, not just as my personal spiritual practice, but as a potential career path (inspired by my North Node in the 8th house and my 4th house stellium in Scorpio, which links back to my house of career and money).

That’s when everything started to change and slowly began to fall into place.

I first trained in Reiki healing and dove deep into family constellation work. I deepened my astrology knowledge through formal certification, and stumbled upon a mentor who encouraged my exploration of hedge witchcraft.

Even though I love learning new things, diving into these subjects with fellow souls was a unique experience - I felt like I could be my true self for once and I didn’t have to hide the witch within me.

These rewarding experiences alone were proof enough that it’s worth taking my natal chart seriously as professional guidance.

My first spiritual venture was offering astrology readings as a side gig, but within 6 months it led to me becoming a full-time astrologer.

It wasn’t something I planned, but it became painfully obvious that I couldn’t keep denying myself the work I was truly passionate about.

But let me be clear: this transformation didn’t happen overnight.

It’s been a journey several years in the making, filled with baby steps and lots of trial and error.

Key natal chart indicators for career

10th house - sign, planets, ruler, aspects

Your 10th house is the key into discovering your most suited industry, professional role and style of working (1:1, group, online etc.), in general the type of work that makes you feel proud to share with the world when someone asks “what do you do for work?”

Midheaven - sign, house, ruler, aspects

The Midheaven reveals what makes us happy in terms of public pursuits, but it doesn’t always align with our work. Still, it’s worth checking whether there is synergy between what you could do for fulfilling work and what makes your soul feel alive. These may be different things (as is the case with me, for instance).

2nd house - sign, planets, ruler, aspects

Your 2nd house helps you understand your relationship to money and how you can improve your earning potential. The 2nd house also holds the key to identifying the job that’s not your soul’s work, but you’re super good at it and it secures a stable income without hating what you do for work.

6th house - sign, planets, ruler, aspects

We spend so much time at work which means that the people we work with are some of our greatest teachers. Your 6th house gives insight into how you can navigate your relationships to your colleagues, the dynamic you bring into a team, and how you need to take care of yourself in terms of work-life balance.

Common misconceptions about career astrology

Some people believe that astrology is too mystical or impractical to be of real value in professional life.

In my experience of doing career readings, I’ve seen it act as a tool for validating those interests and talents people have that they may be too scared to take seriously as potential professional paths.

These have been some of the most heartfelt moments—when people realize that the work that could fulfill them based on their natal chart is something they already deeply enjoy.

It’s also important to note that career astrology doesn’t promise overnight success. Like any meaningful transformation, it requires patience, self-reflection, and a willingness to embrace change.

Finally, we are not meant to do only one type of work in our lives. As we evolve, so do our interests and talents.

In this context, your natal chart gives you the broad parameters of what you’re good at and what you will find rewarding, but there are multiple ways that this can manifest in potential industries and professional roles.

You will always have free will to change course of try something else.

If you’ve ever felt that your professional life is lacking something, that there’s a greater purpose you’re not tapping into, I encourage you to explore your natal chart.

The answers are there, waiting to guide you toward a more fulfilling, soul-aligned career.

You might not be able to change your work life overnight, but when you’re aligned with your true path, things start to happen faster than you think.

The universe has a way of moving things into place once you express your serious intent to radically change your life.
